Song of the Day: Right Thurr (NBA Live 2004 Mix)

Happy Sunday, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. This song right hurr, is for all of you. Austyn and Garett have been featuring songs from video games and I thought that I would join in on the action this week. I have narrowed down a few choice, but this song from Chingy. This song had a lot of commercial success and was played all over the airwaves in 2003, but his mix in particular was made specifically for NBA Live. In fact, the whole album was specifically made for the video game, which is incredible when you think about it. I always thought this game’s soundtrack was so underrated. “Right Thurr” was Chingy’s debut single and biggest hit, without a doubt, and it reached number 2 on the Billboard charts and number 1 in the Rap charts.

Speaking of NBA Live 2004. It was the first PS2 game to feature LeBron James and the best draft class in NBA history in a video game. LeBron was a 69 overall in his debut. Dwayne Wade was 60 and Carmelo Anthony was 63. The player ratings were a bit wonky in the video game for everyone though. It didn't effect the gameplay though. It was also the last EA Sports game to feature Michael Jordan. Jordan wasn’t an active player though, he was on the 90’s All-Star team. I popped the game in for a little bit yesterday and a flood of memories came back. The game played really well considering it is 20 years old. I much prefer the style of those games, because the new 2K games are getting kinda of crazy realistic. I hope you all have a great day.
