Song of the Day: Carefree Highway

Carefree Highway by Gordon Lightfoot. With Gordon Lightfoot passing away last week, it’s only right that we post multiple songs of the day by the fantastic singer-songwriter. Carefree Highway was released in 1974 on Gordon Lightfoot’s ninth studio album Sundown. Carefree Highway hit number 10 on the US billboard and hit number 1 on the Easy Listening charts. It cannot be overstated just how great of a musician Gordon Lightfoot was and especially his story telling abilities. He was the pride of Canada and he was one of Bob Dylan’s favorite songwriters, if that tells you anything. RIP Gordon Lightfoot
