Song of the Day: Saturday Night Special

Saturday Night Special by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tomorrow marks this song’s 48th birthday as it was released on the band’s third studio album Nuthin’ Fancy on March 24, 1975. The song features three verses which each present a different scenario in which a Saturday Night Special is used in a shooting. And just for those that didn’t know, a Saturday Night Special is a slang term for a cheap, compact pistol, and are also know as junk guns.
