Song of the Day: Sock It To Me Santa

Happy Friday folks! Christmas time is getting near, heck you could say it already is. What we like to do here at The Sports Chief is feature Christmas songs most of December, to get everyone in the mood. A difficult thing about picking Christmas songs for roughly 25 different days, is that the variety gets slimmer and slimmer each year. Today, I want to feature one that has not made the cut so far and that is, “Sock It To Me Santa” by Bob Seger and The Last Heard. This is one of Bob Seger’s early bands and the song was released in 1966. A unique thing about this song, is that it wasn’t even recorded on a Christmas album…in fact it is pretty difficult to find information on it, other than the fact that it is on an album called Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings. I heard this one on one of the more underrated Christmas movies ever, “Christmas with the Kranks”. I hope you enjoy this homage to Santa Claus and have a great weekend!
