Song of the Day: Deep River Blues

Happy Monday to everyone! Today’s song of the day will honor the local legend Doc Watson. Watson was born in Deep Gap, a small unincorporated town just outside of Boone, North Carolina. Known for his songwriting and flatpicking skills on the guitar, he won a total of seven Grammy awards throughout his career playing bluegrass, country, folk, and gospel music. He is one of North Carolina’s favorite sons and will always be loved by the people of our state, especially in the mountain region. Enjoy one of his more popular songs, “Deep River Blues,” and have a great day.
