Mountain Dew Southern Shock Drink Review

Happy July 4th everyone! This morning, I woke up feeling like a true North Carolinian and hit up the closest Bojangles for some Country Ham & Mountain Dew Southern Shock! While driving by Bojangles the past few days…I noticed the bright orange window decal displaying this Tropical Punch infused Dew. Folks…it is your lucky day, because The Sports Chief can give you a sneak peek as to how this new flavored Dew tastes!

PepsiCo’s product Mountain Dew is known for experimenting with bold and exciting flavors. Might I add that the logo for Southern Shock is awesome! The new Southern Shock is quite different and adds a tropical punch kick. While opening the lid to this Dew…you’ll notice a captivating reddish-orange glow that pops with carbonated goodness. During the wafting trials…I found that it gives off a sweet, fruity scent.

Now it is the time we have all been waiting for…the taste taste. When the Southern Shock hits your mouth…you a introduced to a plethora off fruit flavors…a true tropical punch. Pineapple and Cherry seem to be at the forefront…with orange a maybe even kiwi at the back-end. A concoction of Hawaiian Punch and original Mountain Dew could get you pretty close to this flavor…maybe some code red mixed in. I also noticed that Mountain Dew has a Dollar General exclusive called Maui Burst…I have not tried that one, but this could be where the pineapple flavor comes in.

Should this Dew be continued…maybe…I would not put it in the same category as Code Red, Live Wire or Baja Blast…but it’s not far off. I give the Bojangles exclusive Southern Shock a 93.75/100 and I recommend you try it out!
