WWE Power Rankings: Week of May 30th 2020

It’s already June and I can’t believe it. WWE put together a really solid week last week and here are my rankings for last week.

10: Sheamus

WWE

WWE

Sheamus was the winner in the opening match on SmackDown. it was a battle royal to determine the fill in for Jeff Hardy and Elias in the IC title tourney. Sheamus lost his match with Daniel Bryan, but it looks like his feud with Hardy is going to continue.

9: Lacey Evans/Sonya Deville

I debated including these two, but I like what they did with this match. It was a double count out, so there wasn’t a clear winner. I think Evans and Deville could have a really good feud if they were given the opportunity to do so. We’ll see if it continues, but expect Deville and Mandy Rose to continue their feud.

8: Charlotte Flair and Chelsea Green

WWE

WWE

I didn’t really expect to see Chelsea Green and Charlotte Flair to team up, but it looks like this is going to happen on regular basis. Green is expected to move to SD or RAW in the near future and it should make things interesting. Green fired her manager Robert Stone this week and I think this is the first sign of her leaving NXT.

7: Sasha Banks

WWE

WWE

This was Sasha Banks’ first singles win in almost 7 months and that is crazy to think about. She beat Alexa Bliss on SmackDown last week and I think a lot of people have been anticipating a turn on Bayley, but for now, that isn’t going to happen. It was an entertaining segment also with Bayley and Nikki Cross on commentary.

6: Angel Garza

Garza had a nice win against Kevin Owens on RAW last week and it could be a sign of things to come in the near future. I think Garza has tons of potential and we could see him pushed to the main title picture. The next little while should be interesting for Garza

5: Nia Jax

WWE

WWE

I wanted to rank Nia Jax higher this week, but she is number 5 for the week. Nia Jax won a triple threat match on last week’s RAW as she defeated Charlotte Flair and Natalya to gain her shot at the RAW Women’s Championship. It was an awesome match in my opinion and Nia facing Asuka should be interesting.

4: Seth Rollins, Buddy Murphy, and Austin Theory

WWE

WWE

Murphy and Theory were the ones in the match and defeated Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo, but I felt like I needed to include Rollins , because he was a key part in the segment. Adding Austin Theory to Rollins group was a good move in my book, because I think he fits with Rollins better than Andrade and Angel Garza. It looks like this feud with Rey Mysterio, Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black is going to continue and that’s fine with me, because I think it has been solid.

3: Timothy Thatcher

WWE

WWE

Timothy Thatcher won the main event of NXT last week against Matt Riddle. The match was a unique won as it was held in a caged pit. It was really interesting and the loss for Matt Riddle signifies the end of his run in NXT. I personally think Riddle should’ve won and took that momentum to SmackDown, but this helps Thatcher develop something moving forward. It was also cool seeing Kurt Angle reffing the match.

2: Daniel Bryan

WWE

WWE

Daniel Bryan won the main event on SmackDown on Friday to earn his way to the IC tourney finals. He will face AJ Styles to determine the new Intercontinental Champion. I believe it may be the first time that they have had a match since Bryan beat Styles for the WWE title in 2018. It should be a great match regardless.

1: Apollo Crews

WWE

WWE

Apollo Crews is number one this week and that is because he defeated Andrade on RAW last week to become the United States Championship. It is great seeing Crews get a shot to defend a title and I think that this can help his career. He has had potential since we have first seen him on screen and I think this title reign could enhance his talent.
