Song of the Day: Lee Van Cleef

Happy Sunday. This week, I watched The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance for the first time and it was a very good movie. Aside from that, in the opening credits, I noticed Lee Van Cleef was in the film. If you don’t know who that is. He was sort of considered an associated starring act in a lot of big westerns, most notably for the Man With No Name Trilogy, acting alongside Clint Eastwood. He typically played the roles of the black hats or the villains. Well, this song popped in my head once I saw that he was going to be in the movie. Prior to his acting career, he was Sonarman First Class in the US Navy during the Second World War. He was stationed on a boat to detect enemy submarines and detonators in the Caribbean and in the Mediterranean. Lee Van Cleef may have not always got the shine and recognition that he deserved, but today, we are honoring him with the Song of the Day. Take that Clint Eastwood. Have a great Sunday everyone.
