Song of the Day: All The Gold in California

Let Brother Marshall and the Choir of Fire take you on a spiritual journey on this Sunday morning. If you are thinking, I have never heard of them before? Then you’re not alone, unless, you are caught up on The Righteous Gemstones on HBO. Brother Marshall and the Choir of Fire is obviously a fictional group and the real artist behind the cover is none other than Sturgill Simpson. Although the context of it is meant to be spiritual, it isn’t a spiritual or gospel song at all. Not even remotely. The original song was written, produced, and performed by Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers Band back in 1979. The song reached number 1 on the country charts and is one of the most popular country songs in that era. I’ll include their version with a fun, classic video of trucks singing the song. Have a great Sunday everyone.
