2023 NFL Thanksgiving Day Preview (Night)

GAME 3

San Francisco 49ers (7-3) at Seattle Seahawks (6-4); San Francisco -7, O/U: 44.5

The NFC West division rivals will have their first meeting of the season. This will be the 6th Thanksgiving game for the Niners and the 5th for the Seahawks. The last time both teams played was against each other in 2014. The Seahawks took the victory, 19-3 and it was their only Thanksgiving meeting.

Going for Gold

The Niners have the team to win the whole thing but can they do it. If they are going to, they will have to get past teams like the Seahawks. They haven’t had any issues getting past teams in their division though. They haven’t lost a division game since December of 2021. They will face a struggling defense in Seattle. The Niners have a top-notch defense and a top-notch offense to go along with it. They have had, by far, the best RB in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey. It also wouldn't be a stretch to say that Brock Purdy has been the best QB in the NFL. He has been incredible, leading the league in QBR and Passer Rating. I think the 49ers will win and win big tonight. I expect a blowout.

Down, But Not Out

The Seahawks will enter tonight as a banged-up team and they could really use a win, but that will be easier said than done. They won’t have Kenneth Walker in the backfield tonight and will have to rely upon rookie Zach Charbonnet. He has had a good stretch so far this season in his limited role, but he will be tasked as the lead back tonight. There was also doubt about Geno Smith’s availability, but it looks like he is a full go. They will have a tough test tonight against the best scoring defense in football. They have a shot, if they go through the air, but it will be tough for them to get anything going on offense.

Difference Maker: WR, Deebo Samuel

At the beginning of the season, this wouldn't have been a big shock, but it is somewhat of a down year for Deebo. He has been dealing with some minor injuries all season long, but I think he will break out tonight. If Purdy decides to go his way, I think he will make the Seahawks defense pay tonight.
