NFL Top 10 Power Ranking (After Week 10)

USA Today Sports

10 weeks have come and gone and the new Power Rankings are as follows. I dropped Cincinnati out of the Top 10 again after a not so great loss to the Texans. The Texans are playing good football right now, but still. The Bengals shouldn't be dropping games to them. The Bills are playing horribly and they’re in danger of missing the playoffs at this point. I don’t think many people thought the would be in this spot at this moment, but wow, they have looked bad. The Broncos are creeping back up, but I don’t think they will be inside of the Top 10 by any means. There wasn't a ton of movement. I didn’t want to be too drastic with my rankings because a lot of the teams that got beat inside the Top 10 weren’t terrible losses. My number 10 may shock some people, but don’t expect this team to be a regular. Keep reading to see who made my Top 10 for this week.

10: Minnesota Vikings (6-4)

Yes, the Minnesota Vikings are in my Top 10. Do I think that they are a Top 10 team? No, but I think they deserve it over the Bengals, Steelers or Seahawks at the moment. They’re currently the hottest team in football and it really wouldn’t surprise me to see them win 2 or 3 more in a row. Joshua Dobbs has been unreal for them since getting traded there. Some are saying he may be the Vikings QB of the future, but personally I say pump the brakes on that. The Vikes have been winners in 5 straight. That alone is worthy of consideration in my book. Let’s see if they can continue the good play.

9: Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3)

I’ve not been too big on the Jags all season long despite their impressive record. I felt weird for putting them inside the Top 5 for as long as I did, because I knew once they faced a team of real talent, they would get embarrassed. Well, what happened this week? They faced a struggling team with real talent and got embarrassed The 49ers owned them on Sunday, 34-3. I think people have been over ranking them this year and I will even say that I am guilty of it as well. It is tough to find where to put teams on a week-to-week basis, but I think they are a borderline Top 10 team each week. I think they’re good, just not great. I think they’re competitive, just not contenders.

8: Dallas Cowboys (6-3)

The Cowboys showed out against the Giants on Sunday evening, but I think the hype that follows a big win is just too much for Dallas. They beat the Giants. Not the Chiefs, not the Eagles. They beat the Giants, who are the in the running for worst team in football. In my personal opinion, they are the worst. Dak Prescott looked great and some are saying that he is the best QB in football right now. Pump the brakes. He is having a solid year, but best in football? Come on now. CeeDee Lamb has been the real MVP of this team. It always feels like they have a team worthy of contention, but it never happens. The Cowboys feel like a playoff team that could be upset yet again in the early rounds.

7:Cleveland Browns (6-3)

I didn’t think the Browns would be in this spot at all, but their defense is the reason why they’re so good. They had a big win against the Ravens this week and I debated on putting them above Baltimore, but the Ravens have a far better offense and a defense that isn’t too far behind, if any. The Browns have a good rivalry matchup agains the Steelers coming up and I think they will humble them as well. The Browns will just not go away, and even with improved numbers over the last few weeks, they’re offense still relies heavily on the defense.

6: Baltimore Ravens (7-3)

The Ravens should have won on Sunday, but it shouldn’t slow them down too much. They’re still a borderline Top 5 team regardless of the loss to the Browns. I just wanted to point out a crazy stat in their game. Roquan Smith at 21 tackles. That is crazy. Lamar didn’t look great last week, but I wouldn’t worry too much about that. They have a tough one agains the Bengals coming up on Thursday.

5: San Francisco 49ers (6-3)

It appears that the Niners are back for good. They just need a week off and sometimes, that is all a team needs. They absolutely destroyed the Jaguars on Sunday. They made Jacksonville look like a bottom of the barrel team. Brock Purdy lit them up and he has really surprised me this season. This team looks ready for a deep run in the playoffs to me after last week’s blowout. They have the Bucs next week and they should beat them fairly easily at home.

4: Miami Dolphins (6-3)

I really didn’t know where to put the Dolphins this week. They had a bye week and two of the remaining teams ahead did as well, but I knew there wouldn’t be any shift with those teams. The Dolphins got a nice week of rest and they have a home game against the Raiders coming up in Week 11. The Raiders are pretty hot right now after firing Josh McDaniels, but I think it still should be an easy win for Miami.

3: Detroit Lions (7-2)

The Lions are always good for a shootout win every now and then and that is just what happened in Week 10 versus the Chargers. The Chargers should just clean house in my opinion, but I don’t to harp on them. The Lions are stout on offense. Their defense is not quite where it needs to be, but I think they’re only a piece of two away from being the real deal. They have the Bears on Sunday and the Packers on Thanksgiving Day, so don’t expect the Lions to go anywhere in the next two weeks.

2: Kansas City Chiefs (7-2)

Kansas City had a refreshing bye week, not that they really needed one, but they’re rested and ready to dominate yet again. I discussed it last week, but they have a number one deciding game with the Eagles on Monday night coming up in Week 11. I normally don’t do predictions in my power rankings, but I will give one here. I think the Chiefs will be the No. 1 in next week’s power ranking.

1: Philadelphia Eagles (8-1)

The Eagles hold the top spot, for now. I couldn’t move the Eagles or Chiefs this week, even though they were a bye week. I personally think that the Eagles are a great team, but they have overachieved this season based on their play. They have barely gotten by teams and some of those teams are straight trash. They have won by no more than 14 points all season long. They have faced only two quality opponents so far in the season and they will be playing their Super Bowl foes this week. I think they’re going down this week, but I also think that is just what they need to play better moving forward.
