Song of the Day: Can't You See

Today’s Song of the Day is from Hank Williams Jr. I have featured a couple songs from his dad in the last couple of months, but I think Hank Jr. often doesn’t get the credit that he deserves. What an incredible talent. This featured song I happened to see a clip of in an instagram post and I knew I wanted to feature it for Song of the Day sometime. The song is a cover of the Marshall Tucker Band and I’m not going to include them today, but their original is great as well. That version was our featured song on June 18th, 2020.

In this particular live version, it was aired in 1976, just a year following his fatal fall off of a mountain cliff in Montana. He plummeted nearly 500 feet and landed on rock and somehow survived. Thank goodness he did because he put out some incredible music after that. After the fall, he changed his look, image, and changed up his music. All of which quickly became iconic for the legendary musician. Above this, I will post the featured song and below, I will post the whole setlist of that live performance on Pop! Goes the Country, which aired nearly 47 years ago. Have a great Sunday everyone.
