Song of the Day: For Your Love

For Your Love by The Yardbirds. With the passing of Jeff Beck yesterday at the age of 78, it’s only right to post a song of the day from where it all started for the famous guitarist, The Yardbirds. Jeff Beck, who is regarded as one of the greatest guitarist to ever live and ranked in the top 5 of many lists, started out his career with the Yardbirds in 1965 as Eric Clapton’s replacement. He was recommended to the band by none other than Jimmy Page, who also played with the Yardbirds in the mid 60s. The Yardbirds were a short lived band and by 1968 the band had broke up. Jeff Beck would go on to purse a solo career and play as the Jeff Beck Group and what was left of the Yardbirds, formed a new band known as The New Yardbirds and later would be known as none other than Led Zeppelin. Jeff Beck was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame two times, one as a member of The Yardbirds and the other for his solo career. Even up until the past few months Jeff Beck was still touring with a band that included none other than Johnny Depp. I don’t know that much about Jeff Beck’s music, but he clearly had one hell of a career with all the accomplishments and appreciation that he received by fellow musicians and those in the media.
