Charlotte FC Report: Week 25, 2022

Last week was less than ideal for Charlotte FC. They lost their matchup against Chicago Fire FC, 3-2 and not only that, they lost their top defender. Guzman Corujo is out for the season with an ACL injury and it is a devastating blow to the club. Corujo was a vital part of the team and you could tell in last week’s matchup that things were definitely not the same when he exited the match. Charlotte’s newest acquisitions will look to step up immediately once their transfers are official. Speaking of transfer news, Sergio Ruiz is departing the club and heading to Granada CF. Moving forward, it will be a tough road for Charlotte, but hopefully they can put all of the doubts to rest with a monumental win in Los Angeles.

MLS

Charlotte will travel to Los Angeles to face LAFC. LAFC is the top team in all of MLS and they’re not stopping there. They recently added former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid superstar, Gareth Bale and they added former Juventus defender, Giorgio Chiellini. They already had a fantastic squad prior to those arrivals and they were led by Cristian Arango and Carlos Vela. This is by far the toughest matchup that Charlotte will have all season long and considering the fact that they’re down one of their better players, it doesn’t look too good for Charlotte. Charlotte is horrendous on the road and facing the best MLS team away from home is not a recipe for success. I want to remain optimistic, but it’s going to be tough heading into this contest. Hopefully they can at least not get embarrassed tonight.
