Elimination Chamber (2022) Predictions

WWE

There’s one more obstacle to go through to get to WrestleMania 38 and it will be laid on the line in Saudi Arabia. A noon PPV just seems weird, but here we are. The Jedda Super Dome will contain the mammoth structure that is the Elimination Chamber and we may see a title change or two. On paper, it looks like a decent card, but I have to be honest though, I’m not digging this show. The big matches seem too predictable and the other matches, I really have no interest in. Well, they all can’t be zingers. Here we go, let’s dive in.

*Predicted Winners are bolded

-       Men’s Tag Team Match: SmackDown Tag Team Championship

WWE

The Usos (C) vs. The Viking Raiders

I really don’t have a clue what this feud is about, because I really haven’t been watching as diligently as I normally have been. It’s possible that we see a title change here, but I’m not really buying that hype. The Usos have had an impressive reign and in fact, it is the longest reign in history of the belts, which was a record that they held previously. Their current reign is 216 days, I would be a little surprised to see them lose them before WrestleMania, but it would be terribly shocking. The Usos are favored at -700.

-       Men’s Singles Match

WWE

Rey Mysterio (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs. The Miz (w/ Maryse)

This is a close enough odds matchup to classify it as a toss-up. This is really what it is. Mysterio is favored here at -180, but I think The Miz will classically weasel his way to a win. I really don’t know what the story is for this matchup, but I’ve been holding out for that Dominik/Rey matchup at WrestleMania. We’ll see if that actually happens, but a loss here, possibly because Dominik screwed something up is a good turn in the story that could give us that match.

-       Men’s Falls Count Anywhere Match

WWE

Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss

It appears that were going to be geared up for a McIntyre/Corbin match at WrestleMania, but I seriously doubt McIntyre will take an L here. This is going to be a Falls Count Anywhere contest and it’s a nice change from the rest of the card. Obviously, anything can happen in a match like this, but I think it would be a bad move for McIntyre to lose. McIntyre is the favorite at -450.

-       Women’s Tag Team Match

WWE

Naomi and Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville

I think the result here will give us a possible spoiler to WrestleMania. I don’t know if they’ll continue the Naomi/Sonya feud until WrestleMania for sure, but I think it’s a good possibility. If Sonya and Charlotte win, that’ll likely mean that Rousey and Naomi will win their future matches. I’m obviously speculating here, but I think that may be the case. A lot of people are making the case for Ronda to lose at WrestleMania, however, I don’t think that will happen. Rousey and Naomi are favorites at -500 and Flair and Deville’s odds are at 3/1. I’m really comfortable taking 3/1 here.

-       Women’s Singles Match: RAW Women’s Championship

WWE

Becky Lynch (C) vs. Lita

In the year 2022, we have Lita in a title match at a PPV. I can’t believe we’re seeing this. I think this has potential to be a great match, but It’s kind of a shame that we’re seeing this match in Saudi Arabia. With that being said though, could Lita legitimately win? Probably not. Becky will take her belt to WrestleMania and defend it. It’s nice to get these kinds of surprises every now and then, but it can turn sour really quick, but we’ll get to that later on. It’s great to see Lita back and hopefully they can put on a great match. Big Time Becks is the biggest favorite on the card at -2000.

-       Men’s Singles Match: Universal Championship

Roman Reigns (C) vs. Goldberg

I’ll keep my prediction short and sweet for this one. If Goldberg wins this match, I will quit watching WWE until after WrestleMania is over.

-       Women’s Elimination Chamber Match

WWE

Bianca Belair vs. Doudrop vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Liv Morgan vs. Nikki ASH vs. Rhea Ripley

The winner of this match will get a shot at the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 and this one has predictable written all over it. Or does it? Most people believe that Belair will win, and I think she will, but they could decide to surprise us here if they wanted to. Alexa Bliss is making her return to the ring, but I don’t think she’ll win. Bliss has the 2nd highest odds in the match, but I don’t think they’ll go in that direction. My Dark Horse here is Liv Morgan, but I really don’t think they’ll go that route. Belair will likely get her rematch with Lynch, but personally, I don’t want to see another match with them. Belair is the favorite at -250, which are pretty high odds for a match with 6 people in it.

-       Men’s Elimination Chamber Match: WWE Championship

WWE

Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles vs. Austin Theory vs. Riddle vs. Bobby Lashley (C) vs. Seth Rollins

There’s a lot of things that they could do here to make things more interesting, but probably won’t. Lesnar enters as the favorite at -175 and will likely take back the WWE Championship and face Roman Reigns in a winner take all match. Regardless of what happens, I think Lashley will drop the title. I think another interesting outcome could be for Rollins to win. If they’re adamant on joining the belts, they could make the WrestleMania match a triple threat. Rollins didn’t get that clean win at Royal Rumble and I think we could revisit that. I don’t think that will happen, but we’ll see.
