AEW Full Gear (2022) Predictions

I don’t think I have done an AEW PPV prediction article since Double or Nothing, in fact, I didn’t even watch All Out, but there is a lot buzz surrounding this one. After the fallout from All Out, things have been looking pretty good. I wasn’t sure how thing were going to be handled after the CM Punk debacle back a couple months ago, but AEW has really done a great job since that controversial night. As of now, there are 13 matches advertised on the full card, but 3 of those will be in the Buy-In portion of the show prior to the main card. AEW always provides a great product and you get your money’s worth every time you buy a show. This one should be no different. I’m only going to predict the main card and I’ll try to keep it brief. Here are my predictions for tonight’s show.

- Men Tag Team Match

Sting and Darby Allin vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal

This is a really cool match and it feels like an old school type of match. The team of Sting and Darby Allin are still going strong and I expect them to close it out tonight. It’ll be interesting to see Jarrett back in the ring with Jay Lethal. I could see them winning, but I’m not expecting it unless there is interference.

- Women’s Singles Match: TBS Championship

Jade Cargill (C) vs. Nyla Rose

Nyla has been in the possession of the belt for quite some time, but I think Jade Cargill will take back what I rightfully hers. I’m not expecting a great match here.

- Men’s Tag Team Match: AEW World Tag Team Championship

The Acclaimed (C) vs. Swerve in Our Glory

The champs are huge favorites tonight and I think it will likely be the outcome for the title match. As a fan, i’m hoping Lee and Swerve get the win, because not everyone loves The Acclaimed. I get why they’re beloved by fans, but their schtick isn’t for me.

- Three-Way Match: TNT Championship

Wardlow (C) vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Samoa Joe

This is going to be an interesting match. Three powerhouses in the ring for the TNT belt. I think Wardlow will retain, but I’m not completely sold that he will. I think Powerhouse Hobbs could get a sneaky victory.

- Four-Way Match: ROH World Championship

Chris Jericho (C) vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sammy Guevara

When you start to have more than two people in the ring at the same time, it gets more difficult to predict a winner. Jericho is favored to retain, but who knows? There are 3 other guys in the ring, but as far as stories are concerned, I think Jericho will retain, because I think he will carry the belt until they announce a ROH TV deal.

- Steel Cage Match

Jungle Boy Jack Perry vs. Luchasaurus

This should be the end of what has been a very lengthy feud, especially in AEW. It should be a fun matchup, but it would shock me if Luchasaurus picks up a win here. Apparently, he is injured and he may be off of TV for a little while after tonight.

- Women’s Singles Match: interim AEW Women’s World Championship

Toni Storm (C) vs. Jamie Hayter

Thunder Rosa isn’t ready to come back yet, but this should be fun. I don’t think Toni Storm will drop the belt, but these two ladies have a nice hard-hitting wrestling style and the match should be great regardless.

- Men’s Six Man Tag Match: AEW World Trios Championship

Death Triangle (C) vs. The Elite

Omega and the Bucks are back and I think they will reclaim their gold that they won at All Out. It will definitely be interesting to see what will take place for them after tonight’s show.

- Women’s Singles Match

Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs. Saraya

A lot of eyes will be on this contest and for good reason. Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, makes her in-ring return after being forced to retire from a neck injury in 2017. It has been 1 day shy of 5 years since she has stepped through the ropes and I think she’ll get a big win tonight.

- Men’s Singles Match: AEW World Championship

Jon Moxley (C) vs. MJF

It is MJF’s time. He has fought tooth and nail to become the top draw in AEW and it is finally happening. It would be a shock to see Moxley retain here and that is crazy to say, but it is true. There isn’t a guy in the wrestling world that has the mic skills of MJF and his upcoming title reign should be really good.
