AEW Power Rankings: Week of May 5th 2021

Blood and Guts took place this Wednesday night and it had a lot of controversy surrounding the show. A lot of fans were upset with the fact that Jericho was clearly shown falling onto a crash pad in the final spot of the show and there were a lot of other minor details that left a bad taste in fans mouths. Also, they pulled the rug out from underneath fans attending the live event. They didn’t tell the fans that the first hour was pre-taped and the only live portion was going to be the Blood and Guts main event. It was pretty crappy to say the least on AEW’s part not to clarify that before the event and a lot of matches were seemingly no-DQ, but they were never announced as such. Without knowing any of the backstories though, it wasn’t a bad show. There is a lot to build from and the PPV event in a couple weeks should be fun to watch. Here are my rankings from the action at Blood and Guts.

5: Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston

4: Cody Rhodes

3: Orange Cassidy

2: Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

1: The Pinnacle
