Song of the Day: Doin' The Uptown Lowdown

Happy Friday! We are going WAY back for today’s song. Appalachia radio on Fallout 76 is amazing and I love the nostalgic soundtrack from the game. For this reason…I went with Isham Jones and his, “Doin’ the Uptown Lowdown.” The song is amazing depiction of entertainment in the early 30’s and encapsulates the language of the people of the night. Well…maybe it’s not that powerful, but it’s awesome either way. Maybe I can find this one on vinyl. Isham Jones was a musician from an early age and when he moved to Chicago…he hit it big. He signed with RCA Victor and later with Decca. I often imagine how the music industry operated in the 30s…especially with the technology compared to today. I hope you enjoy this old song and have a wonderful weekend!
