Song of the Day: Come As You Are
Come As You Are by Nirvana. A song that just about everybody has heard at some point in their life. Come As You Are was released in September of 1991 on the band’s famous Nevermind album. Unlike the album which went to number one on the US charts, Come As You Are was only able to make it to the 3rd spot on the US billboards. It does appear to have been the highest charting single from that album even beating out Smells Like Teen Spirit which only made it to 6 on the charts. Fun fact the town of Aberdeen, Washington, which was the hometown of the band Nirvana, the welcome sign for the town features this song with the slogan “Come As You Are”.
