Song of the Day: War Pigs
War Pigs by Black Sabbath. The opening track to Black Sabbath’s second studio album Paranoid, which was released in September of 1970. Another anti-war song from the Vietnam time period and a very good one at that. I’m not big heavy metal fan, and you definitely don’t have to be to like this song. It’s got some great guitar and drum work throughout the song and some very good lyrics. And the song was featured on Guitar Hero 2, only one of the best games back in the day. It’s funny that however many times I played that song as a kid I never listened to the lyrics closely enough to know it was an anti-Vietnam song.
