WWE Power Rankings: Week of September 13th 2020

Hi guys, I apologize for the Power Rankings being so late. It does get overwhelming sometimes observing this much wrestling content, but I like doing this each week. Last week was pretty cut and dry and hopefully I can get on a better schedule of putting out these power rankings in the near future. Here are my rankings for last week.

10: Peyton Royce

Last week on RAW, Peyton Royce defeated former tag team partner, Billie Kay. In the past, I have been clear about my displeasure in The IIconics breaking up, but there’s nothing we can do about it now. It is pretty evident that they want them to go their separate ways and embark on singles careers. We’ll see what happens in the near future, but I think both ladies are super talent and there is a lot of potential for both of them.

9: Asuka and Mickie James

Asuka and Mickie James teamed up last week and picked up a win against Lana and Natalya. The match was superb, but it was actually pretty decent. There was actually a little doubt concerning the outcome of the match. Asuka and Mickie had a match this week on RAW, but I think that will come back up in next week’s article.

8: Bayley

WWE

WWE

Bayley didn’t compete on this week’s SmackDown, but her promo was meaningful and impactful. She attacked Sasha Banks a couple weeks ago and I think it took a lot of people by surprise, the timing that is, not the actual fact that she attacked her.

7: Lucha House Party

WWE

WWE

Lucha House Party got a nice W against the SmackDown Tag Team Champions last week. Kalisto got the win for the team and it may earn them a title shot.

6: The Hurt Business

WWE

WWE

The Hurt Business has been pretty active on RAW over the last few weeks and they were last week especially. They defeated the team of Ricochet, Apollo Crews and The Viking Raiders in an 8 man tag match and Cedric Alexander joined the group. The next few weeks should be interesting for this group, but the big thing that came out of this match was the fact that Ivar took a nasty dive. It appears that he will miss over a year and just had neck surgery. Hopefully he makes a great recovery.

5: Rhea Ripley

WWE

WWE

Ripley has been somewhat quiet since dropping the NXT Women’s Championship, but has still maintained her status at the top of the food chain in NXT. Ripley had a great match with Mercedes Martinez last Wednesday and picked up the win. The match was in a steel cage and we have seen a couple of those over the last couple weeks.

4: Nikki Cross

WWE

WWE

Nikki Cross earned a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship this week in a Fatal 4-Way match. While it looks like Cross is just another shot for Bayley to retain and add to her title reign, but I think she may have a good shot at the belt. We’ll see in the coming weeks, but Cross will get another shot to prove herself in a title match in nearly 2 weeks.

3: Roman Reigns and Jey Uso

WWE

WWE

Real life cousins teamed up this week for the main event of SmackDown to take down the team of King Corbin and Sheamus. This main event provided a great angle for the two competitor without getting each other on their bad sides just yet. I expect things to turn south pretty quickly, but I’m pretty excited to see the match, even if Jey Uso doesn’t have a real chance.

2: Dominik Mysterio

WWE

WWE

There may not be a competitor in WWE right now with the momentum that Dominik Mysterio has at the moment. Mysterio defeated Murphy in a street fight last week on RAW and he and the Mysterio family has been featured quite a lot in the last few weeks. It doesn’t look like Dominik is going anywhere and for good reason. He has been impressive.

1: Finn Bálor

WWE

WWE

The Prince is the new NXT Champion and it was a wonderful match. This was the exact reason why Bálor was placed in NXT. A competitor with his experience, talent, and overall dependability was a perfect fit for NXT and he automatically became a title contender with his spot on the roster. As soon as they needed him to be champ, they could make that change and they did just that last week. Bálor should be a great champ for the brand moving forward
