I know I’m a little late to the party, but it is still exciting news that 2K Sports and the NFL have come to an agreement to produce games in the future. I know what you’re thinking, this means that Madden and EA Sports have a little competition on their hands, but it doesn’t look like that is the case. While EA Sports will continue to produce the annual Madden games, which is simulation based, 2K Sports will produce more of an arcade style of game.

Now, what does this mean? I take it as 2K Sports will produce a complimentary game for Madden that is more interactive, rather than a more realistic game that isn’t as user friendly. I definitely see the upcoming NFL 2K titles looking very similar to that of NBA 2K Playgrounds 2. Many of us at The Sports Chief play this game regularly and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great game to play with family and friends and like I said earlier, it is pretty user friendly.

While I think a game similar to NBA 2K Playgrounds would be pretty awesome, what I really want to see is a modern-day NFL Street revival. I loved those games growing up and having something similar to that would be pretty cool to see.

The new NFL 2K game(s) are expected to debut in 2021, but it is unclear when exactly they will make appearances on the shelves. The upcoming titles are in the early stages of development. All I know is, Lamar Jackson will be unstoppable on the upcoming NFL 2K
