Week 3 XFL DraftKings Tips

Here we are again with another XFL DraftKings article and last week, I didn’t do great, but I had a few good scoring players. Hopefully Week 3 will be different. I’ll also try to keep things shorter this week.

-       QB: Jordan Ta’amu ($10,100)

I feel like there weren’t many QB options this week. Cardale Jones will be picked a ton, so I steered away from him this week and Phillip Walker was a little pricey so I wanted to go a different route. I think you get the best overall value with Ta’amu. For starters, he is currently 2nd in passing yardage and 3rd in rushing yardage in the XFL. You get a dual-threat QB against a struggling NY Guardians defense and I think that is good enough for Week 3, unless I learn that you need the highest priced QBs to succeed.

-       RB: Jacques Patrick ($4,400)

RB is still the most difficult position to draft heading into Week 3 and I think it will just be like that for the rest of the season. Patrick plays for the Vipers and currently sits 5th in the XFL in rushing yardage. You may be thinking that it is pointless to consider season stats only 2 games in the season, but I’m only looking at it from a consistency standpoint rather than compilation of stats. Tampa Bay runs the ball a lot and Patrick led the team in carries last week. Also, I’m hoping for a TD, but you always hope for that when picking a cheaper option.

-       WR: De’Mornay Pierson-El ($10,100)

This will be the second time that I pick Pierson-El this year and I think I really couldn’t avoid it this week. He is clearly the top option for Ta’amu in St. Louis. I picked him in Week 1 and he didn’t have a bad game, but Week 2 he went off. He had 20 FPTS and was targeted 11 times. Volume is king and Pierson-El can obviously be a target monster this week as well.

-       WR: Eli Rogers ($9,700)

Eli Rogers will probably be picked a great deal this week, but it is somewhat unavoidable considering the circumstances of this week. I think he will have a great game especially with Cardale Jones throwing to him. The LA Wildcats are somewhat shaken up on defense and I want to take advantage of that. Rogers is the target leader for DC Defenders and I think we could see that again in Week 3.

-       FLEX: Donald Parham ($5,300)

Parham looks like he is is the top WR targeted in the Dallas offense and is only $5,300 this week. If you watch the Renegades play, you notice they throw to RBs a lot, so picking a WR could be a mistake, but I don’t think it is. A lot of people will pick Cameron Artis-Payne and Lance Dunbar this week, so I want to get another option that could fill a void in a high-powered passing attack and I think Parham fills the void. He is technically a TE, but he is considered a WR in the XFL. He is 6’8”, so he is a huge target for Landry Jones and could be a safety blanket if things go south early in the contest.

-       FLEX: Christine Michael ($5,200)

This one is a toss-up, but he saw a massive bump in production in Week 2. The XFL’s leading rusher and top back for the Battlehawks is questionable heading into Week 3 and this could be a big game for Christine Michael if Jones can’t play. He had 15 carries last week and I think we could see a similar volume in Week 3.

-       D/ST: DC Defenders ($4,700)

The Defenders D/ST is averaging 23.5 FPPG and isn’t the highest priced defense in Week 3. Jump all over that! I think a lot of people will, but the Defenders are no joke and picking against them would be a big mistake in my opinion. Josh Johnson is currently questionable which is another thing in favor of the Defenders this week.
