In this series I highlight three things to do for the people in the Charlotte, NC area and anyone who may be visiting our awesome city this weekend.  Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in America with plenty to offer everyone.  So, let’s take a look at three things you can do this weekend (Friday, February 21st through Sunday, February 23rd):

1. Haunted History Tour (Friday)

Those who are fans of the paranormal, and scary stuff in general, will like this one.  The historic Rosedale Plantation in Charlotte will be providing tours given by staff members and the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society.  You’ll hear stories about the spirits that haunt the plantation while navigating through the first floor and cellar of the house, the gardens, and the blacksmith shop.  Each tour will last approximately one hour and groups are limited to 25 people.  Tickets are $20 each and the tour will begin at 7:00 p.m., but you need to be there by 6:30 p.m. to check in.

The Charlotte Hornets will be taking on the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Spectrum Center.  Come watch Miles Bridges, Devonte Graham, and PJ Washington take on Kyrie Irving and the Nets.  And there’s more.  First it will be a retro night in which the Hornets will be wearing the classic uniforms that everyone loves, and secondly, it will be Miles Bridges bobblehead night.  So, come be part of the action and help make the Hive come alive on Saturday.  Tickets can be purchased on the team’s website or just outside the Spectrum Center before the game.

This one is pretty sweet!  The inaugural CLT Donut Festival will be held at noon this Sunday at Norfolk Hall (2905 Griffith Street).  It will feature donuts from Charlotte-area bakeries, served along with coffee, juice, smoothies, and alcoholic drinks.  While you walk around and sample donuts and drinks, you will also enjoy live music, games, and all types of vendors featuring local artisans and artists.  The event is open only to those 21 and older.  You can buy your tickets at the door, but are strongly encouraged to buy them online beforehand before they all get sold out.  Find out more information by visiting the website below.
