WWE Power Rankings: Week of February 2nd 2020

Happy Groundhog Day and Super Bowl Sunday everyone! Two of the biggest unofficial holidays in one and here is another edition of the WWE Power Rankings to top it off. I thought this week had a lot of great moments, but the flow of the shows wasn’t the greatest. It was tough to rank this week, because there were a ton of good things to choose from. I didn’t have an article last week, but it was a beneficial week to be in the Royal Rumble. This week, we are back to normal and here are this week’s Power Rankings.

-       10: Dominik Dijakovic (NR)

WWE

WWE

Dijakovic defeated Damian Priest in a match for the rights to face Keith Lee for the North American Championship. Dijakovic and Lee are money in the ring and every time they have a match, it turns out to be a classic. It should be interesting to see this match in the next couple weeks at TakeOver.

-       9: Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy (9)

WWE

WWE

Rollins and Murphy surprisingly are ranked again this week. They were featured a good bit on Monday and they even had a successful title defense against Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. I don’t know if Samoa Joe getting injured during the match made them call an audible, but nevertheless it was a great match.

-       8: John Morrison and The Miz (NR)

WWE

WWE

Miz and Morrison are the new number one contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship and they will face the champs at the next PPV in Saudi Arabia. It should be a fun match to see, because we know what to expect in a sense. Morrison has faced both Kofi and Big E since returning to the WWE and they were both solid matches.

-       7: Tommaso Ciampa (NR)

Number One contenders were announced a good bit on WWE programming this week, but probably none bigger than this one. Ciampa is wanting “Goldy” back and it looks like he will have a chance to get the title back at TakeOver. This match is easily match of the night favorite and it would be cool to see a title change.

-       6: Tegan Nox (NR)

WWE

WWE

Since the start of this feud, it has been almost forgotten due to the injury of Tegan Nox, but now that she is healthy again, it is back in full force. I love this feud and Tegan Nox is possibly the most underrated performer on the NXT roster. Nox defeated Dakota Kai this week and they will have a match at TakeOver to settle the score, but this time it will be a street fight. It should be fun and I am ready for it.

-       5: Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle (NR)

WWE

WWE

Here are your Dusty Rhodes Classic winners. I wasn’t sure about the chances of a make-shift team winning the tourney, but here it is. Dunne and Riddle have been a solid team since forming and it looks like they’re on their way to the NXT Tag Championships at TakeOver. This particular reign for the Undisputed Era has lasted since August and it feels like the time is right for a title change, but I guess we will find out in a couple weeks.

-       4: Roman Reigns and The Usos (NR)

WWE

WWE

A lot of people hated this segment and I will say it wasn't the greatest, but it was meaningful. This whole dog food bit hopefully signifies the end of the feud and the start of a new one. Roman and The Usos clearly work well together and I think they should be used together more often from here on out. Honestly, I’d like to see a potential WrestleMania match featuring Roman and The Usos going up against Rollins and his guys. I think that would be a cool interbrand matchup for WrestleMania.

-       3: Braun Strowman (NR)

WWE

WWE

This was a big moment for The Monster, but I think it was a couple weeks too late to have a big impact. Two weeks ago, SmackDown was in Greensboro and Strowman was in front of a practical home crowd. It would’ve meant a lot more to have him win at home in front of his family, but let’s have him win it in front of a Tulsa, Oklahoma crowd… Doesn’t make sense to me, but anyway, he is the new Intercontinental Champion and it will be interesting to see who can and will take it off of him. Be prepared for a long title reign.

-       2: Drew McIntyre (1)

WWE

WWE

The Men’s Rumble winner was strong yet again this week on RAW. He defeated Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a handicap match to kick off the show in rather quick fashion. He is totally over with the crowd and him winning the Rumble was an awesome moment. Hopefully he can get his big moment at WrestleMania this year, because he truly deserves it.

-       1: Randy Orton (NR)

There wasn’t a more talked about figure in wrestling this week than Randy Orton. I feel bad about not ranking Edge last week, but I felt like there were more things that were more significant on a week-to-week basis. Edge spoke to the WWE Universe in the closing segment of RAW and was greeted by an old friend, RKO. Orton got the crowd fired up teasing a potential Rated RKO reunion, but things turned sour pretty quickly as they typically do with Randy Orton. This segment was pure gold. I will leave it at that and you guys can watch how it all unfolded in the video above. WrestleMania is looking pretty good from here.
