The Hornets are on a winning streak for the first time in a month in a half. They split the last 4 games and could legitimately pull together a couple more wins in a row. They pulled off a season sweep against the Detroit Pistons, which is pretty cool to see. It has been difficult to get excited about this team, but the upcoming draft is encouraging. While the season is still fresh, there are definitely some things that the team can improve upon. This upcoming All-Star break will give the team some much needed rest and give them a chance to try new things and plan for the future. As bad as the Hornets are playing this year, there is still a chance for them to make the playoffs as they’re only 5.5 games behind the 8 seed. I don’t expect them to make it, but it is still possible. There are 28 games left in the season, so it will be interesting to see what approach they take in the next couple of weeks. There were no All-Star selections on this year’s Hornets squad, but Devonte’ Graham, Miles Bridges, and PJ Washington will participate in this year’s Rising Stars Challenge. Speaking of which, Graham is this week’s Hornets MVP. Hopefully there will be better days for Hornets fans, but it looks like we are going to endure yet another below average year. There are no games for another week for Charlotte, so no upcoming games preview to go over this week, but expect it next week. Have a happy All-Star Weekend.
