Song of the Day: Wonderful Tonight
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. Wonderful Tonight was released on Clapton’s 5th solo album Slowhand. Interesting tidbit about the song. Eric Clapton actually wrote the song about his friend’s wife, Pattie Boyd. The friend that was married to Pattie Boyd in 1977 was none other than George Harrison of The Beatles. Just two years later, Boyd and Harrison were no longer together and Clapton had swooped in and married Boyd. Pretty wild move to not only write a song about another man’s wife, but especially the wife of a friend and former Beatle. Apparently though Clapton and Harrison somehow remained friends the years following and continued to collaborate on music together.
