Song of the Day: Morning Dew

From May 26, 1972 at Lyceum Theatre, London, found in the album Europe '72, Disc 2 Walk me out in the morning dew my honey, Walk me out in the morning dew to...

Morning Dew by the Grateful Dead. This song featured on the band’s live album Europe ‘72. It was from the band’s May 26th concert in London, England. Morning Dew was actually a song written 10 yrs prior by Canadian singer-songwriter, Bonnie Dobson, which is not someone that I’ve ever heard of. But it’s a great song and it’s been covered by even more artists than the Grateful Dead. Morning Dew has been covered by Jeff Beck, Robert Plant, Nazarth and more. That has to be the ultimate sign of respect or appreciation that an artist can receive, is when another artist enjoys the music they’ve written so much that they decide to cover it themselves.
