Survivor Series (2020) Predictions

Survivor Series is going to be live tonight and while things are still a little odd without the “live” crowd, it is still interesting. There was a surprising title change on RAW this week and some new entrants were added to the annual 5-on-5 Elimination Tag match. This event will also mark the 30th anniversary of The Undertaker and they will honor his career tonight. They added a Battle Royal to the kickoff show, but I’m not going to bother to predict it because there are no announced entrants at this time. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds, but first, I would like to make a few predictions of how I think tonight’s action will go down.

-       Men’s 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Match

Team RAW (AJ Styles, Keith Lee, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, and Riddle) vs. Team SmackDown (Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, King Corbin, and Otis)

When Survivor Series rolls around, you know to always expect the elimination tag matches and they’re almost never predictable. This match could go a number of different ways, but at the moment, it appears that Team RAW has the edge. While both teams appear to be having trouble seeing eye-to-eye on a lot of things, RAW seems to have the tools to make it work. For starters, they have a massive size advantage, but despite this, I think this could be a great, well-balanced match. Team RAW is the slight favorite

-       Women’s 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Match

Team RAW (Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Lana, Lacey Evans, and Peyton Royce) vs. Team SmackDown (Bayley, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, and Natalya)

I’m using the same philosophy in the Women’s match as the Men’s. The SmackDown team seems to have their ducks in a row and I’m giving them the edge at the moment. A lot of people seem to believe that Lana will have the true underdog story and be the lone survivor of this match and I’m not dismissing that, but I think that they can stretch the feud between she and the Women’s Tag Champions for a little while longer. I think she could actually cause Nia or Shayna to be eliminated. SmackDown has the slight advantage as far as odds go, but either way, it wouldn’t surprise me who wins.

-       Men’s Champion vs. Champion Non-Title Singles Match

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

WWE

WWE

This match will go one of two ways. Zayn will sneak his way to victory using his ring smarts or Bobby Lashley will absolutely demolish him. I personally think it will be the latter. Lashley has been on an absolute tear since he regained the belt and I don’t see things changing. Of all of the matches tonight, Lashley has the highest favored odds on the card. If they want to surprise the fans, Zayn could pull out the victory, but to be honest, both of them are heels and I don’t think it makes a difference either way.

-       Men’s Champion vs. Champion Non-Title Tag Team Match

The Street Profits vs. The New Day

WWE

WWE

The odds are split in this contest and that means that this match should be one heck of a battle. I personally give The Street Profits the edge here. I feel like this will be some sort of show of respect type of match where The New Day kind of passes the torch to the next up and coming tag team in the WWE. I may be wrong here, but I have a feeling that will be the case. Both teams are beloved and I can’t ever see these two teams having a standard heel vs. face matchup, so this is the perfect setting for this type of contest. This should be a fun matchup.

-       Women’s Champion vs. Champion Non-Title Match

Asuka vs. Sasha Banks

WWE

WWE

Sasha Banks is favored here, but I think this will be one of the few possible upsets on the card. Sasha probably has the slight momentum edge, but both competitors are at the top of their game. Asuka is the current slight underdog at +120, with Sasha being favored at -160. These are two of the best female performers in the world right now and it should be an exciting matchup. I don’t really expect any interference from either side here and I think it will be interesting to see how it unfolds. It doesn’t hurt either competitor if they lose, but a win could give a slight momentum edge moving forward.

-       Men’s Champion vs. Champion Non-Title Match

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre (No Contest)

WWE

WWE

I think a lot of fans view this as a fantasy booking matchup involving the two best in the WWE at the moment. It couldn’t have played out any better than it did. McIntyre regained the WWE Championship on Monday night and we get to see him be in the main event against the Universal Champion. Surprisingly enough, Roman Reigns is favored by a decent amount. I thought for sure it would be split odds, but that isn’t the case. Roman is a -250 favorite going in and I feel like I would avoid this matchup all together. I can’t see them having a decisive winner here and I personally think there will be a little interference from a person that has had recent connections with both superstars. I think Brock Lesnar will interfere in this matchup and reclaim his spot at the top of the WWE food chain. I could be wrong, but I guess that is what makes it a prediction. It should be a great contest though.
