AEW Power Rankings: Week of October 1st 2020

I have to be honest, I didn’t catch a lot of Dynamite this week, but it turns out that it was another decent week. I did watch and hear some recaps of the show though. I’m not going to go into huge detail with these entries, but hopefully you will understand the reasons why I picked them where I picked them. Here are the rankings for the week.

5: Chris Jericho

The Demo God had a match this week with Isiah Kassidy and picked up a win. The match was solid and it showcased Kassidy in a great way. That was the goal in having the match and both competitors did what they needed to do.

4: Britt Baker

The doctor was back in action this week and she walked out of Wednesday’s Dynamite with a win against Red Velvet. I can see here getting a title shot pretty soon and I think it is well deserved. She is one of the best things in the women’s division at the moment.

3: Jon Moxley

Moxley squared off with The Butcher in the main event of Dynamite and they had a great showdown. The Butcher doesn’t normally have singles matches, but this was a nice change of pace. The show ended with Eddie Kingston staring down the current champ, so it looks like we may get rematch between those two.

2: Cody

The Cody/Brodie Lee feud is heating up even more and Cody dropped some fire on Wednesday night. Cody is no stranger to cutting wonderful promos and on Dynamite, he did just that again. I’ll let you all listen and decide how good it was.

1: FTR

FTR squared off with the inaugural tag team champs this week and retained the titles. It was the match of the night and FTR is a team that is so easy to hate, and I mean that in the best way possible. Tully Blanchard fits right in with this team and he helps to make each match even more interesting.
