Song of the Day: Fire on the Mountain

This Grateful Dead tune was recorded and released in 1978, but was first performed at a concert in 1977 in San Francisco. It was written by Robert Hunter, who was a lyricist for the band and wrote many Grateful Dead songs along with Jerry Garcia. Fun fact: according to Deadbase XI: The Complete Guide to the Grateful Dead Song Lists, “Fire on the Mountain” was performed in concert 253 times by the band.
