Congrats to the 2019 Calder Cup Champion Charlotte Checkers!!! It was a long and hard-fought season and the best team in the AHL claimed the most prized possession in the league. The Checkers defeated the Chicago Wolves 5-3 last night on the road to claim their first Calder Cup. They won the series 4-1 and the MVP of the Calder Cup Finals was Andrew Poturalski, who compiled 23 points over the course of the Playoffs. It is great to finally see one of our hometown teams doing great things.
