Song of the Day: Waymore's Blues

For today’s Song of the Day, we are featuring arguably the great country artist of all time. Yesterday we featured his son and his song, “Gone to Carolina”, but today I chose one of favorite Waylon Jennings songs. In 1975 on his Album “Dreaming My Dreams”, he and songwriter Curtis Buck wrote a song entitled “Waymore’s Blues” and Jennings claims the song is about nothing, but there seems like there is something behind the meaning of the song. He pays homage in the first verse to folk singer, Jimmie Rodgers, but said that the rest of the song lyrics have no substance. Take a listen to this classic Outlaw Country song.
