J. Scott's NBA Trade Deadline Thoughts

In a day and age where Everyone ( Superstars) seem to be friends, the NBA has found a way to discourage them from hanging out of the court to prevent unauthorized trade talks. With that being said, AD (Anthony Davis) was not traded to the lakers and their trade talks were cut short when the pelicans started making a ridiculous request. Despite the hype around AD trade talks, the 2018-2019 NBA trade deadline did not disappoint. Let's take a closer look at some of my favorite moves.

Lakers clear some cap space trading Micheal Beasly and Ivica Zubac to the clippers receiving Mike Muscula...As we all know, look for a possible signing of Carmelo Anthony. I like this move simply because the Lakers are looking to compete better with Warriors, and I'm all for a good matchup, but there could be some reshuffling in the Warriors locker room as well involving KD (Kevin Durant), splash Brother Clay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Next, let's look at the MAVs. The MAVs had a surprise deal when they acquired Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway, Jr. , Courtney Lee and Trey Burke from the Knicks sending DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith, Jr. , Wesley Matthews, and Two future first-round picks NY. They also traded Harrison Barnes the Kings for Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph. Mainly I like the move to acquire Porzingis to complement Luca Doncic. Two of similar players that remind me of Dirk one for the frontcourt and one for the backcourt..... Look for them to DO SOME DAMAGE!

The Knicks were not losers in this Trade as the freed up cap space to possible land KD and maybe Kyrie Irving... As you all may have seen the Knicks put KD on the promo for the season opener ( in his warriors uniform). Subliminal messaging is a real thing.

Last one I want to mention in 76s acquiring Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, and Mike Scott from the Clippers sending off Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, Landry Shamet,2020 first-round pick,2021 first-round pick (from Miami)and Two future second-round pick (from Detroit).. The 76ers are the winners here adding star Tobias Harris to a young core with Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and Joel Embid... 76ers making a real run to take the East with this move. My only concern is Ben Simmons inability to stretch the defense with perimeter shooting.
