WWE Power Rankings: Week of October 26th

It seemed like another average week of WWE content with nothing really to take away, well, I would say nothing, but not a lot to take away. With Crown Jewel being less than a week away, it seemed like it was a shorthanded week. A lot of the talent that is going to be featured on Halloween weren’t featured that much. Tyson Fury is in a match, but we had very little mentioned between he or Braun Strowman this week, which was weird. All-in-all, NXT was the best show that WWE had to offer yet again, and the rankings reflect it. Only one competitor that was on last week’s Power Rankings stayed on this week and since I’ve put NXT on the weekly rankings, it seems to be a pattern of few superstars having back-to-back weeks.

-      10: The Street Profits (NR)

WWE

WWE

The Street Profits want all the smoke and they proved that they could handle it in the main event of RAW. With the help of Kevin Owens, The Street Profits took down The O.C. Angelo and Montez are a very valuable asset to the RAW brand and I’m glad they are getting this kind of push right now. They are super entertaining and moving forward I want to see them in more main event spots.

-      9: Bray Wyatt (NR)

The Firefly Fun House is back and Ramblin’ Rabbit is alive again. Wyatt will face Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel on Thursday in a Fall Count Anywhere match and they made a point to advertise the fact that the match cannot be stopped under any circumstance. The fact that Wyatt is on SmackDown and the Universal Championship is on RAW leads me to believe that Wyatt isn’t going to win. I’m interested to see how they make the ending interesting enough for fans not to be pissed off after the conclusion, but I guess we’ll find out.

-      8: Nikki Cross (1)

WWE

WWE

Cross is the only superstar to remain on the rankings from last week and she comes in at number 8 this week. Cross faced Mandy Rose last night, but the match wasn’t that great. It wasn’t bad either, but it was more of a meaningful stepping stone to progress her storyline with Bayley. At this point, I don’t think she’ll win the belt, but I can’t see them keeping her on the backburner for very long if she doesn’t win her title bout.

-      7: Rhea Ripley (NR)

WWE

WWE

After missing last week, Rhea Ripley is back in the Top 10. She is getting a star’s push and she solidified that on Wednesday with her huge win over Bianca Belair. I said this a couple weeks ago and I think it is even more true today when I say that I think she is just the right person to take Shayna Baszler’s title. I’ve followed her since the start of her career with NXT and she has been nothing but impressive.

-      6: Aleister Black (NR)

WWE

WWE

Black didn’t have a high-profile match, but the match he did have was meaningful. He defeated a local talent in a squash match on Monday and it was a great time to remind fans that he is still here and ready for big match opportunities. Aleister Black has main event potential written all over him and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him facing the Universal Champ in the near future.

-      5: Brock Lesnar (NR)

Lesnar makes his first appearance in the Power Rankings since SmackDown debuted on FOX. He won the WWE Championship on the show and has obviously held it since. Lesnar attacked Dominic, Rey Mysterio, and Cain Velasquez on Friday night. He has a match with Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel and I think a lot of fans are anxious to see how he and Cain match up in a wrestling ring.

-      4: Drew McIntyre (NR)

WWE

WWE

After missing a couple weeks of action, McIntyre is back and better than ever. The Scottish Psychopath was announced as Team Flair’s last member and subsequently had a match with Ricochet. The match was absolutely wonderful and I’d even venture to say it was the match of the week in WWE. McIntyre could be in line for another big push, but I feel like I say that every time he comes back from an injury or moves to a different brand. I think the biggest sign of this is the fact that he was a first round draft pick for RAW.

-      3: Cain Velasquez (NR)

WWE

WWE

Velasquez was featured on RAW and SmackDown and even though the closing image from him this week was him getting attacked by Brock Lesnar, it was still a very strong week for the former UFC fighter. From what I’m hearing, the jury is still out whether or not he has actually signed a deal with the WWE, but I guess we’ll see what happens after Crown Jewel. I’m also interested to see how he gets it done on Thursday.

-      2: Roderick Strong (NR)

WWE

WWE

Strong had another strong week and this is his second appearance on the Power Rankings this year. The North American Champion successfully defended his title against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic on Wednesday and the rest of the Undisputed Era attacked the two competitors that Strong defeated. Undisputed Era is at the forefront of the NXT brand, but things may be changing.

-      1: Finn Bálor (NR)

WWE

WWE

It was just a matter of time, but this is the first week that an NXT superstar is number one in the Power Rankings. Finn Bálor arrived towards the end of the show and made a huge impact. It appeared that Bálor was going to aid DIY, but Bálor hit Gargano with a Pelé kick and UE proceeded to attack Ciampa and Gargano. Bálor’s heel turn looks to be legit and I’m excited to see him as a heel in WWE. I didn’t really see this as him aligning with the Undisputed Era, but more as a statement making appearance. Look for Bálor to be in the title discussion very soon.
