NBA DraftKings Tips for 1/23/19

Due to the short slates on Monday, no article was published by The Sports Chief, but we are back at it with tonight’s 10 game slate. Today will feature cash game tips that should be used in double-ups. I am taking a break from the GPP’s in NBA, hoping to build a solid bankroll up. Let’s get it on!

Everyone knows that Madison Square Garden is the pinnacle of all sporting events. With that being said, I am going James Harden at $13,400. “The Beard” has averaged 62.4 DK points this year, and 74.3 in the last 10 days. The Knicks are 28th in total points allowed and who the heck do they have that will stop Harden? This just screams matchup nightmare to me.

Now here is the hard part…by spending all of that “deserved” money on Harden, you have to go in conservation mode. Value, Value, Value...where can you get it? The Hawks and Bulls square off tonight and here is where you can get it. In terms of scoring, the over/under is set at 223.5. These two teams have just enough wins combined to get the 8th seed in the Western Conference…nonetheless, this game screams fantasy value. Kris Dunn at $6,300 is not a “fancy” pick, but he is exactly what I need. An elite on-ball defender will wreak havoc on Trae Young, maybe get 3-4 steals, and 10+ points 7+ assists and a few rebounds, and I have a solid night from him. I am also going with Bobby Portis at $5,800, he is averaging 26 DK points and plays 22 mpg…he is a force when on the court, and the Hawks aren’t a threat to him.

My other choices are mostly gut deals…JJ Redick ($5,500) is one of the few reliable options on the 76ers tonight, as Simmons, Embiid, and Butler are all questionable. Redick averages 27.3 DK points anyway, so it’s a solid choice. The Spurs are middle of the road in terms of defense on opponents 3-point percentages, so it’s a solid choice. Jahlil Okafor at $4,600 is another risky choice. I went with him because he just came off of a 40 DK point outing. The once heralded Center out of Duke hasn’t broken out yet, but with Anthony Davis out, I think he will get solid minutes against the Pistons who are so-so against Centers, plus Drummond is a game-time decision.

Alright folks, that’s it. I decide not to write about Terry Rozier at $4,000 because his ownership will probably be higher than Harden’s and it’s just too easy. Good luck to everyone out there!
