Oscar Mayer Sponsoring Ryan Newman at Daytona 500

NASCAR is just around the corner and I cannot wait for the drop of the green flag at The Great American Race! I am going to write about the upcoming NASCAR season in the coming days, giving a preview of the season as well. In a little over 5 weeks, we will be cranking up the engines and getting ready to watch some racing! On that note, I would like to announce an interesting story of Ryan Newman’s Daytona sponsorship.

Oscar Mayer has announced they will be sponsoring Newman at Daytona and a select few races for the 2019 NASCAR season. Ryan Newman will replace Trevor Bayne and Matt Kenseth in the “sub-par” ride, hoping to finish in the top-20 in points. The statement from Oscar Mayer is as follows…"We're honored to be a season-long sponsor of driver Ryan Newman and Roush Fenway Racing," said Matt Riezman, Associate Director for Oscar Mayer. "We have big plans to support the sport and the No. 6 Oscar Mayer Ford Mustang this year and can't wait to share our love for tasty Oscar Mayer bacon, cold cuts and hot dogs with NASCAR fans."

The car does look pretty sweet, and the “Weiner Mobile” has a legitimate shot of winning the 500. The only reason for that is that Yates Engines are typically the class of the field at the restrictor plates. Newman and Stenhouse Jr. provide an interesting combo for Jack Roush, and I hope they advance in terms of quality of product that was rolled out there on Sunday’s.

Hopefully NASCAR can get more sponsors like Oscar Mayer to get involved in the sport, as many drivers are suffering from lack of sponsorship. I do love their bologna…
