NHLer Does Best Luis Suarez Impression And Bites Shark

If you pay attention to soccer in the slightest then you know who Luis Suarez. Even if you don’t pay attention to soccer, you still probably know who Luis Suarez is due to his biting instances. Yes, plural. Well on Friday night in the Vancouver and San Jose game it appears as if the Luis Suarez fad has hit the NHL. Antoine Roussel of the Canuck’s was in a big scrum and bit Sharks’ player Marc-Edouard Vlasic.

Now i’m not sure there is ever the time when it’s appropriate to bite someone but I’ll at least admit that Roussel’s situation was a little bit different that any of Suarez’s. As you can see in the video, in the scrum it appears that Vlasic was face washing Roussel and even grabbing his ear. Then Roussel simply turns and bites down on Vlasic’s hand. Also in Roussel’s defense, his hands were all tied up by the refs so the bite was really his only option. I’m not exactly condoning it, but I can definitely see where he is coming from. It’s not the worst thing in the world. As of this morning Roussel received a $5,000 fine but no word of a suspension.

For what it’s worth it’s been quite sometime since Suarez has bitten somebody, amazing that he’s been able to control himself.
