Thanny's Thoughts: NFL Week 11

NFL.jpg

At Seattle -2.5 vs Green Bay

Well last week didn’t go as well as I had hoped going 6-8 but I’m still .500 on the season so I’ll take that, just like I’ll take the Green Bay Packers in this game because I love a fighting for the playoffs Packers team with Aaron Rodgers as an underdog. The only slight worry in this game is that the Packers are 0-4 on the road, so obviously not playing great….but the more I think about the Packers are due a road win at this point. Packers not only cover but win this game.

Carolina -4 vs At Detroit

The Panthers got smoked last week so there’s probably going to be a lot of people on Detroit at +4 but Vegas knows what they’re doing. Also, the Panthers over the last few years always seem to bounce back after losses so I’m taking the Panthers at -4.

At Atlanta -3 vs Dallas

I feel like I’ve taken the Falcons every single week no matter the spread and that’s obviously been a terrible mistake considering they’re 3-6 vs the spread. But how can you look at this Falcons offense with the weapons it has and not think that they’re going to beat the Cowboys, who stink out loud, by more than 3.

At Baltimore -4 vs Cincinnati

Both of these teams started the off the season hot and have cooled off. If either of these teams are going to make a push for the playoffs these are the must win games. Also, HUGE NEWS for the Bengals this week adding Hue Jackson to their coaching as the assistant head coach. I’m sorry the assistant to the head coach. Honestly, who knows what the hell Hue’s job is going to be but give me the Bengals based solely off them adding a guy who went 3-36-1 in two and a half seasons.

At Chicago -3 vs Minnesota

Chicago is flying high at 6-3 and leading the NFC North. Who would have guessed. So, as we all know, it’s about time for them to come down to earth. I expect a close, low scoring matchup but with Kirk Cousins and the Vikings coming out on top. I’d even like Minnesota at -3 in this game.

At New Orleans -8 vs Philadelphia

The Eagles are under .500 and look pathetic this season, which kills me every time I think about how we allowed this Eagles team to score 41 pts on the Pats in the Superbowl. The Saints on the other hand are looking like the type of team that could score 41 pts on anybody in the Superbowl. But…. -8 is just too big of a spread for me. Surely the Eagles have to go into this game as a must win and I’m not sure if they will pull off the upset but expect them to cover.

At Indianapolis -2 vs Tennessee

The Colts were 1-5 three weeks ago but after rattling off 3 in a row they’re almost back to .500. I’m not going to lie, I actually like the Colts to get back to .500 with the Titans coming back down to earth after they’re blowout of the Patriots. See that’s the way it usually works in the NFL, one week you play good the next week you play bad.

Houston -3 vs At Washington

Washington is kind of like the Bears in the fact that they currently leading a tightly contested division that many people at the beginning of the season wouldn’t have given them a chance of doing. The Texans are coming off a bye week and with the additions of Demaryius Thomas, they’re offense might look pretty good. I like the Texans.

At NY Giants -1 vs Tampa Bay

Got to love the fact that the Giants manage to get their first win since week 3 last week in their win over the San Francisco 49ers who were led by a 3rd string QB and all of a sudden, they’re favored in this game. Meanwhile the Tampa Bay offense pulled the impossible last week by having over 400 yds passing but only scoring 3 pts. I can’t even begin to fathom how this is possible. I like Tampa Bay in this game though, even though I’m sure they’ll make another qb switch midway through the game.

At LA Chargers -7 vs Denver

If you haven’t been paying attention, the Chargers are really good with a 7-2 record and they’re best defensive player might be returning this week in Joey Bosa. Another game where I like the favorite to win, but the spread is just a bit too much for me. Surely Denver can hang close.

At Arizona -4 vs Oakland

This is what you call must see tv! John Gruden has somehow managed to find a way to make his Raiders team so bad that they’re 4 pt underdogs to the Arizona Cardinals. It’s quite the accomplishment and one that should be applauded. Wouldn’t it just be ultimate John Gruden to reel off some wins and get the Raiders a 10 spot in the draft. Give me the Raiders in this one.

Pittsburgh -5.5 vs At Jacksonville

The Jags are kind of like the Falcons in the sense that I bet on them every week because my brain can’t comprehend how this team is actually bad and not good. Just as I said last week, the Jags can’t be this bad, right?? Give me the Jags.

LA Rams -2.5 vs Kansas City

The single best matchup of the season. A game so good that we had to tell Mexico we wanted it back. I’m going with the Rams in this game because I think they’re d-line is just too good. Really looking forward to seeing how Mahomes can react with this Rams D rushing him. I’m not so sure this game is going to be the shootout that people think it is. Bold prediction that neither team scores 30 and the Rams cover.
