Swing and a miss.  That pretty much sums this one up.  I knew the reviews were bad going in, but I thought I would give it a chance anyway.  Coming in with a run time of less than an hour and a half, I felt like this movie was never going to end.  I hung in there with hopes that it would improve or offer even the slightest bit of quality.  Nope.  I felt after the first fifteen minutes or so that I somehow missed the first thirty minutes of the movie.  As a viewer, you are just thrown right into the story and while sometimes that can be interesting, there actually needs to be decent writing and direction to bring it all together.  I was never engaged in the story or emotionally invested in any of the characters.  The movie was showing that when we as people are in a desperate situation and there is no longer a hierarchy of authority, we become animals and will do anything to survive.  I didn’t find any of the “horror” to be suspenseful and I certainly didn’t find the comedy to be comedic.  Again, overall a swing and a miss and a missed opportunity as well.  They had some solid actors that included Ed Helms, Karan Soni, Dan Bakkedahl, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Demi Moore but there is only so much that can be done with a script like that.  Looking forward to seeing what is in store for the other actors not mentioned in future work.  Good cast but just a bad, bad movie.  1.5/5
